Pipe organ on the staircase landing

I played the pipe organ built into the staircase landing during my stay. I sat on the porch with my tea while I watched the rabbits in the garden every morning. I also spent time in the library and relaxed in the massage chair. My breakfast consisted of a fruit plate followed by a main course and a baked good.

Parking by the house

I parked my car in the comfortable driveway during my stay. Joel met me upon my arrival to hand over the keys. I spent my mornings visiting my son at the University of Rochester.

Pearl sugar waffles at breakfast

I enjoyed the pearl sugar waffles at breakfast each morning while I heated leftovers in the full kitchen of my two-bedroom suite. The indoor pool stayed open fairly late, so I swam with my kids after we spent the day shopping.

Sunset drinks at Hattie's rooftop bar

I watched the sunset from Hattie's, the rooftop bar, while I sat by the fire pits. My room had a balcony with two chairs and a desk for work. I walked to Char, the restaurant in the lobby, for dinner after I checked in. A warm chocolate chip cookie came with my check-in process on the first day.

Charging stations for vehicles on site

I parked at the EV chargers on site, easy to use and always had space available throughout my trip. My room contained a full kitchen and a separate bedroom, and I started each morning with fresh fruit and overnight oats from the breakfast bar. The warm pool was open for guests during my stay as well.

Multi-nozzle showers in a historic building

I rinsed off in a walk-in shower with five water nozzles that kept the temperature steady throughout my four nights. My room displayed antique furnishings inside this converted university club, which sat within walking distance of downtown. I enjoyed a meal at Tournedos Restaurant on the ground floor after arriving, finding the historic architecture of the building much more interesting than the local chain hotels.

Early breakfast at the terminal

I walked across the road from the Frederick Douglass airport terminal to reach the lobby. Breakfast was ready at 4:00am, which helped since I had an early flight. I used the full set of dumbbells and the spinning bike in the fitness center before I left. The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of outlets for my chargers.

Games in the indoor basketball court

I shot hoops in the indoor basketball court located on the hotel during my stay. After my game, I soaked in the hot tub positioned next to the heated indoor pool. I cooked dinner in the modern kitchenwith a full-size fridge, a microwave, and a two-burner stove. Every morning, I ate bacon and eggs from the breakfast buffet that was kept stocked throughout the meal.

Bunk beds next to The Strong Museum

I stayed in a room with bunk beds, perfect for my boys. I ate dinner at Lila's, the restaurant located downstairs, after walking over from The Strong Museum just across the street. The modern room included a balcony with a love seat and table where I sat. My bathroom featured a mirrored barn door that separated the shower and toilet from the sink area.

I accessed the Genesee River walk directly from the hotel patio. My suite included a full-size refrigerator and a microwave, which I used to store and heat leftovers after spending the day outdoors.
